I've got to admit that I was very skeptical about this product but bought it on the strong recommendation of the original review (THANK YOU)! Update: I just read a negative review that says the Gomadic holder doesn't work well with Jeep Cherokee vents--that's too bad). If you buy this device, please consider doing yourself another favor and pair it with the iPhone and iPhone 3G Fm Transmitter with LCD Display

The Gomadic holder is fantastic in my 2007 Hyundai Sonata and works as promised without any tools! It's right at arm's length on the dash. Not certain if this would truly work in all cars since I can't possibly compare all vents; however, as a car aficionado, I have yet to encounter a car (except Jeep Cherokee) that would not work with this device since all vents are fairly standard (some really expensive sportscars notwithstanding). This equipment saved me from having to have expensive car mods to accomodate iPhone (1st gen) and Satechi FM transmitter. You will not go back to headphones in your car after using this product! Be aware that when you first open the package, it's a good idea to read all the manuals. I was very excited for this to arrive and rushed it into my car. It still works great but I heard an odd "crunching" sound from the metal springs when attaching the holder to the vent. Otherwise, it works great and is very tight (that was my bad); luckily, no harm done.

At first I loved this car vent holder. It attached to my vent and gave me easy access to my phone. After a few months, the product just seemed to breakdown. I find the holder that attaches to the vents really flimsy and if you don't have a gentle touch you might break your own vent. Also the part that holds the phone secure will eventually loosen and drop down. You will find yourself constantly adjusting the side holders just so that you can remove your phone. Overall, the idea of a car vent holder is a good idea, but the product is not the well-made.
